Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Srinagar and Dal Lake

Land at Srinagar airport where your driver meets you and transfers you to the hotel or a houseboat. After settling in, head to Dal Lake for a relaxed shikara ride past floating gardens and vendor boats. Explore the Mughal gardens at Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, then close the day with sunset views from Shankaracharya hill. Overnight in Srinagar.

Day 2: Srinagar to Gulmarg day trip

After breakfast, drive roughly two hours to Gulmarg through pine forest and open meadow. Ride the famous Gondola cable car in two phases, from Gulmarg town toward Kongdoori and on toward the Apharwat slopes, for wide Himalayan views. Walk the meadows near Khilanmarg or visit the Gulmarg Golf Course. Return to Srinagar by evening for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Srinagar to Pahalgam

Drive about two to three hours south to Pahalgam, passing saffron fields near Pampore and apple orchards along the way. Set beside the Lidder river, Pahalgam is your base for the valleys. Take local excursions to Betaab Valley and Aru Valley, or ride toward Chandanwari, all framed by pine slopes and snow fed streams. Overnight in Pahalgam by the river.

Day 4: Pahalgam to Srinagar and departure

Enjoy a slow morning by the Lidder river, then drive back toward Srinagar. Depending on your flight time, stop at Chashme Shahi garden or the Hazratbal shrine, or browse for pashmina, walnut wood and dry fruits in the old city markets. Your driver transfers you to Srinagar airport in good time for your onward journey. Trip ends.

What is the best time to do this 4 day Kashmir tour?

Kashmir is lovely almost year round. March to May brings tulips and blossoms, June to August is pleasant and green, September to November has crisp autumn colour, and December to February brings snow in Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Tell us your dates and we will advise what to expect.

Is the Gulmarg Gondola ticket included in the price?

No. The Gondola cable car ticket is bought locally and is not part of the package price. We help you plan for it and guide you on the two phases, but the ticket cost is paid directly on the day.

How much driving is involved each day?

The drives are comfortable. Srinagar to Gulmarg is roughly two hours each way, and Srinagar to Pahalgam is around two to three hours. Local sightseeing within each area involves shorter drives, so you are never stuck in the car all day.

Can I stay on a houseboat in Srinagar?

Yes. Many guests love a night on a traditional Dal Lake houseboat. Let us know when you book and we will arrange a houseboat stay in place of or alongside a hotel, subject to availability and any rate difference.
