How cold is Pahalgam in winter?
Days in Pahalgam are a few degrees milder than Gulmarg, but nights in the Lidder valley get very cold because cold air settles along the river. On December 21, 2024, Pahalgam dropped to minus 8.6 C, colder than both Srinagar (minus 8.5 C) and Gulmarg (minus 6.2 C) that night. In early January 2026 it recorded minus 4.8 C on the night Gulmarg hit minus 8.8 C.
