The fare covers the vehicle, fuel, a professional local driver and standard running costs on per day hires. Starting rates are Rs 2,500 per day for a Swift Dzire, Rs 4,500 for an Innova Crysta and Rs 5,000 for a Force Traveller tempo. Parking, entry tickets, pony rides, gondola tickets and permit charges are extra and paid on the spot.

Yes. We run our own hotels in Pahalgam and our own fleet of cabs, from a Swift Dzire to a Toyota Fortuner and a 12 seater Force Traveller, with local drivers. Srinagar, Gulmarg and houseboat stays are arranged with trusted partner properties.

April to June for green valleys and the Tulip Garden, September to October for autumn colour and fewer crowds, and December to February for snow and skiing in Gulmarg. Each month has its own guide on this site.

Gurez is a border area and permit rules have changed over time, so check the current requirement before you travel. In Ladakh, areas such as Pangong and Nubra need permits, which are arranged in Leh. Carry a valid photo ID, and we confirm the latest guidance when you book.

Ask for the exact hotel names, whether the cab and driver are directly employed, the advance amount and what it confirms, and check recent Google and TripAdvisor reviews. A local Srinagar based agency usually gives firmer prices and a direct contact when plans change on the ground.

More Kashmir trip questions

How far ahead should I book a Kashmir trip?

Six to ten weeks ahead for April to June, Christmas and New Year; two to four weeks is usually enough in other months.

Do I need a permit to visit Kashmir?

Indian citizens need only a valid photo ID. Foreign nationals need a valid Indian visa and passport; hotels register foreign guests on arrival. Ladakh areas such as Nubra and Pangong have their own fee or permit rules.

Do mobile phones work in Kashmir?

Postpaid connections from other states work. Prepaid SIMs from outside Jammu and Kashmir generally do not, so carry a postpaid number or ask us about options.

Can I pay by UPI or card in Kashmir?

UPI and cards work in Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg hotels and most shops. Carry some cash for ponies, local taxis, tea stalls and remote areas like Gurez.

What is the cancellation policy?

It depends on how close to travel you cancel and on hotel rules for your dates. The exact terms are written in your quote; see our refund and cancellation policy.

Is Kashmir suitable for senior citizens?

Yes, with a slower plan, ground-floor rooms where possible, short walks and the lower Gondola stage. See Kashmir for senior citizens.

Can you plan Kashmir with Ladakh or Vaishno Devi?

Yes. See the Kashmir and Ladakh itinerary and the Kashmir with Vaishno Devi tour.
