Betaab Valley is a lush green pocket a short drive from Pahalgam, framed by snow-touched peaks and threaded by a clear mountain stream. It takes its name from the Bollywood film shot here decades ago, and the setting still looks made for the screen: bright meadows, tall pines and the Lidder's tributary running through. Easy to reach and easy to enjoy, it is a popular spot for a relaxed half-day, with gentle walking paths, plenty of photo corners and simple spots to sit and soak in the surroundings. It suits families, couples and anyone chasing that postcard Kashmir view.

Things to do

Best time to visit: April to June and September to October are the sweet spots, with the greenest meadows and clear skies. July and August stay lush with some rain. Winter brings snow and a very different, colder beauty, though access can depend on weather.

How to reach: Betaab Valley lies about 15 km from Pahalgam, a short drive of around 30 to 40 minutes by local taxi. Pahalgam itself is roughly 90 to 95 km and about 3 hours from Srinagar, so most visitors reach Betaab as part of a Pahalgam trip.
